Rental Car

Each group of guests from 1 - 4 persons is provided with a rental car for the duration of their tour so that they may have the ability to explore the island outside of the tour activities. Public transportation and taxis on Ikaria are limited, so you will want to have your own transportation in addition to the transfers offered on the tour activities. If you do not drive or simply do not wish to have a rental car for any reason, we will issue your group a transportation credit or vouchers that can be used to hire taxis and other transportation on the island. You also have the option to pay extra for a private driver/car during your stay on Ikaria.

We arrange for you to pick up your rental car upon arrival and return it upon departure, and our representatives will always be present to greet you, assist you with your bags, escort you to your accommodations and bid you farewell. Your rental car will be either a Hyundai Getz, Hyundai Atos, Chevrolet Matiz, Daewoo Kalos or similar manual transmission compact 4 door car with air conditioning. Jeeps and automatic transmission cars are available upon request and at extra cost. A valid driver's license is required. Unlimited kilometers are included, insurance at extra charge or at your own arrangement.

Meals

Daily Ikarian Breakfast at your accommodation.

Ikarian Breakfast consists of fresh & locally sourced:Breads, Rusks, Pies & Pastries, Eggs, Honey & Marmalades, Cheeses,Olives, Seasonal Fruits, Yogurt, Cold Cuts, Herbal Mountain Teas, Greek Coffee and Juices. Filter American Coffee is also served.

Lunches are provided on all activities and depending on the location are either Picnic, Box or Taverna eat in.

Typical Picnik/Box Lunches can include: Fresh Local Bread, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Greek Meatballs, Grilled Chicken, Tzaziki, Greek Salad, Rice, Cheeses, Olives, Seasonal Fruit, Springwater, Icetea, Baklava. Vegan lunches can also be prepared upon request.

1 Dinner treat is included and will take place either on a visit to an Ikarian Panagiri (Saints Day Feasts) depending on the dates, a local taverana, or in a private home - . Ikarian Dinner Evening

Accommodations

Ikaria is a big island and driving times are long between the north and south sides (1.5 hours on mountain roads), so we recommend spliting your accommodations during multi day tours to match the daily activities and tours to the same side of the island you are staying on.

On a 7 Day All Inclusive Tour you can sleep 3 days in Faros and 4 Days in Armenistis.
On a 5 Day Tour you can sleep 2 days in Faros and 3 days in Armenistis.
This allows you to stay close to the different daily activities and tours you have selected and experience the different atmosphere and "vibe" of sleeping overnight on both sides of Ikaria.

Most of the activities and tours you will choouse from are on the north side of Ikaria near Armenistis.
The south side activities/tours we offer are: Kayaking, Sailing Day Trip and South Side Island Tour.
If you are not interested in at least 2 of these activities/tours then you should stay exclusively in Armenistis.

If you do not want to split your stay between the north and south sides, you may be responsible for your own transportation to the starting point of your activities and tours that are on the other side of the island depending on the number of people in your group.
That is why we also include a rental car so you have the freedom to choose.

Travel/Medical Insurance:

We take the safety and care of our guests very seriously and in order to protect yourself against any unlikely travel disruption to your holiday or accident, we require each guest to show proof of adequate travel & medical insurance prior to your arrival in Ikaria. In the event that you cannot show proof of coverage you will not be able to participate in any activity/tour until such proof is offered. The cost of travel/accident insurance is very affordable and well worth the peace of mind it brings to you and your family. You can easily purchase a policy online. The average cost of a 7 day policy is around €25 per person, or € 60 for a family (2 adults with up to 3 children under the age of 18).

Individual Day Tours & Activities - Payments & Deposits for Bookings:

In order to confirm an individual daily activity or daily tour booking we require a 50% deposit payment per guest.
Payments are in Euros (€) and can be made via Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, PayPal or IBAN/BIC-SWIFT transfer. Credit card payments will incur an additional transaction fee of 3.5%.
The remaining 50% is payable anytime up to 14 days before commencement of the activity/tour.

If you book a day activity or day tour within 14 days of its start you must pay the full price at the time of booking.
We use a secure encrypted server (SSL,HTTPS) for credit card payments.

Multi Day Holiday Tours - Payments & Deposits for Bookings:

In order to confirm a Multi Day Holiday Tour booking we require a 35% deposit payment per guest.

You will be charged the deposit only after having confirmed to us your travel dates and preferences (flight or ferry to/from Ikaria) and only after having agreed to the travel itinerary we create for you.

This also allows you to verify your international travel options to/from Greece from your home country and plan your travel before and after your tour with us.
If you book a multi day holiday tour within 14 days of its start you must pay the full price at the time of booking.

Date Changes, Cancellations & Refunds:

Individual Day Tours & Day Activities
Guests can request and make changes to their day activity/tour date(s) free of charge at any time subject to schedule, accommodation and transportation availabilty for the new date(s) and subject to any price differences from our suppliers for the new dates.
If you cancel your day tour/activity at any time before its start date, you lose your initial deposit/balance payment, but you have the option to reschedule and apply any payments to a new date(s), subject to availability. We want you to have fun and experience Ikaria and will work with you to schedule another date/time.

Multi Day Holiday Tours
Guests can request and make changes to their Multi Day Holiday Tour free of charge at any time prior to the tour start date subject to schedule, accommodation and transportation availabilty for the new date(s) and subject to any price differences from our suppliers for the new date(s).
If you request to cancel your multi day tour at least 30 days prior to its start date, you will receive a refund of 50% of any amounts paid, minus refund transaction fees, but you have the option to reschedule and apply any non-refunded amount(minus transaction fees) to a new date(s), subject to availability and any price differences from our suppliers.
Cancellations made within 30 days are not eligible for any refund of amounts paid, but you have the option to reschedule and apply any non-refunded amount(minus transaction fees) to a new date(s), subject to availability and any price differences from our suppliers. We want you to have fun and experience Ikaria and will work with you to schedule other dates.

Activity Delays, Cancellations and Substitutions:

Upon occasion it may be neccessary or unavoidable to cancel or reschedule activities due to weather, safety concerns for our guests, or other unforeseen events. We will make every effort to fulfill your scheduled activity or tour, including our right to reschedule the time that day. If for any reason we are unable to reschedule a cancelled activity during your stay in Ikaria, you will be issued a refund or future credit for that particular activity, except in weather related instances where you will only be issued a future credit..

Statement of Physical Health & Liability Release Waiver:

Prior to participating in any activity or tour each adult guest (and legal guardians/parents on behalf of children under 18 years of age) will be required to agree to and sign a statement declaring their good physical health standing and releasing Island Ikaria Outdoor Activities, its owners, employees and partners from any and all liabilty.
The activities, tours and sports offered are regular/normal sporting activities done under supervision with a guide or leader and for your enjoyment or thrill, as such they require physical exertion, elements of skill, and involve a potential risk of injury.
